Instructors and Staff: Welcome to the TAC!

Column 1

At the Testing Accommodation Centers, we provide a limited-distraction environment for students to take their academic exams and provides as close of an experience to in-class test taking as possible. Exams can now be scheduled both during the day and in the evenings up until 9:00 PM, at both the CCCB and MLB locations.

Our focus is creating a safe, supportive environment to provide accommodated exams. Between our two centers, we have 79 reduced distraction seats for students along with several private rooms. However, seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so instructors may need to be flexible in the event that seats are not available at the preferred time.

Whenever possible, we encourage instructors to administer accommodated exams using department resources or other spaces available to them, at a time that is convenient. This allows students greater access to their instructors if they have questions during the exam and it is often closer to the experience of their classmates.

Additionally, we ask that, as much as possible, instructors should be the driving force behind making arrangements at the TAC, though students are still a key piece of scheduling exams and should be informed to make their seat reservations. We expect consistent communication between instructors and students regarding where a student will be taking their exam.
