Services for Students with Disabilities

These resources and services are to assist students with disabilities on the U-M campus and in the local community. In some cases, but not all, a student has to register with the SSD office to access these services. Please contact us to learn more about the registration process.

University of Michigan Interactive Campus Map

We are excited to share the newest resource from Campus Information! The new Interactive Campus Map will allow users to easily navigate between campuses, get driving or walking directions and even find the nearest appropriate parking lots. It has also included the location of handicap accessible entrances, and lighted pathways for Central, North and Medical campuses.

Snow Removal Services Hotline

If you are a UM student with a mobility impairment, and are having problems caused by the snow, call this snow removal hotline.

High Stakes Testing Accommodations

Each high stakes test has its own policies regarding what constitutes an impairment. To find out what documentation is needed prior to taking the test, you will need to go to that specific test website. Here is a list of the most common testing websites and their guidelines for submitting documentation. 


Braille Text Printing

In those instances where Braille is the only viable medium, SSD staff will assist the student in procuring the desired text.
