Old National Bank is excited to partner with the University of Michigan to offer an internship program to provide career exploration opportunities for the students who are interested in exploring careers in the financial services industry. Listed below is a working position description for what we would like to offer for the summer of 2019.

Intern Position Title: Banking interns


  • 12 weeks. Summer of 2019
  • Duration of position – May 20 – August 9, 2018
  • 36 hours/week. M, T, W, Th – 9:00 – 5:00, F – 9:00 – 1:00

Business Goal:

Offer an in-depth financial services internship experience to selected students who want to learn more about a career in financial services.

Business Unit:

Assignments will be made in one of three departments:

  1. Retail
  2. Commercial / Credit
  3. Wealth Management / Investments

Office Location:

Old National Regional Headquarters – 2723 S. State Street, Ann Arbor, MI  48104

Position Overview:

Program is a 3-pronged explore and educate approach to include:

  • Executive mentorship
  • Community Service exposure
  • Job shadowing internship

Selected students will be assigned to a department and will develop a weekly schedule where the student will be onsite at the bank participating in a job shadowing assignment. 

In addition, student will attend a deep dive session on various career paths in banking. These deep dives will be held each Friday and local interns will participate with interns in other locations. 

Student will also be assigned an executive mentor who they will meet with 1-2 times per month to learn about the mentor’s career path and will attend community service sessions with mentor as student’s schedule permits.

Job Requirements:

Students should have an interest in exploring a career in the financial services industry and a familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Program Evaluation:

Students will complete an internship evaluation at the conclusion of the program so the success of the program can be evaluated and modified before rolling it out further.

Compensation: Competitive. $12/hour
