Preparation for Enrollment
It is the student's responsibility to find funding resources, select the proper courses, and complete degree requirements. We recommend you take the following steps before registering for classes:
- Consult U-M's academic calendar for upcoming registration dates (posted up to two years in advance).
- Read and understand the information in your program's College Bulletin and Schedule of Classes.
- Sit in on a meeting of the classes you plan to take the following term.
- Go to the bookstore and check the required reading that is listed for the classes you are considering.
Speak with instructors during their office hours.
- Get a syllabus and contact instructors with questions you may have about concerns such as writing assignments, testing style, and accommodations.
- Visit classroom locations and become oriented with their buildings.
- Take into account individual needs related to your disability, and take steps to assure that any support services such as alternative text formats, special equipment, or readers are arranged prior to the start of the term.
- Contact SSWD to find out if you're eligible to register early due to required classroom accommodations.
