Accessing Google Email and Calendar with Google Apps

As the University has moved towards a Google-based email and calendar system, you should have received several messages about migrating your current email and calendar contents to Google. While the migration process itself is fairly easy and accessible, the standard browser-based pages for accessing Mail and Calendar are known to have conflicts with common assistive software such as screen readers and speech input software.

Technical information mitigations or alternatives to Google Apps is available on the M+Google Accessibility pages athttps://sites.google.com/a/umich.edu/going-google/accessibility/. An information sheet on Google accessibility issues is being disseminated to faculty; the text of this sheet is also online at http://www.itcs.umich.edu/atcs/news/google-apps-and-accessibility.pdf  http://www.itcs.umich.edu/atcs/news/google-apps-accessibility.php

Jane Vincent, U-M's Assistive Technology Lead, is available to provide assistance by appointment at the Knox Center (1128 Shapiro). Please contact her at jbvincen@umich.edu or 936-3794.
